Outside Achievements Don’t Always Represent Who You Are On the Inside

If you’re like many of my clients, you’ve always been valued for what you can do- high grades, a star in the arts or in athletics, impressive accomplishments at work, always putting others first at the cost of yourself. You’re so good at so many things, so why are you having such a hard time?

No matter what those outward achievements may look like—championships, trophies, graduating from an elite school high-level positions in competitive fields, etc.—you’re still human with genuine desires, dreams, and emotions that need support and attending to. Your value is more than your successes.

It’s time we connect with your inner voice and live a more connected, authentic life.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Family & Relational

Depending on your childhood experiences, you may be finding it difficult to create or maintain healthy relationships with certain family members or friends.

Together, we’ll figure out what’s really going on and how to organize your thoughts so you can move forward with confidence and clarity. We can work together to examine the sources of your pain or confusion, and find ways to heal, overcome, and move forward from the memories and triggers that are keeping you from living a happier, more fulfilling life.

Life Transitions

Going from college into the real world, from single to partnered (or vice versa), becoming a parent: these transitions can be, to say the least, quite jarring. No one is really ever prepared for what that transition looks like. Our individuality means that no two experiences are the same.

If you’re going through what might feel like a quarter-life crisis, trying to figure out what your life looks like next, setting boundaries as an adult, or still working through grief or trauma from childhood, my goal is to help you carve out a path to get you through and moving forward.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Even the seemingly best relationships require consistent work, individually and together, in order to maintain a healthy, happy partnership.

Whether you’re thinking about marriage, married for a while, and/or in an open, poly, or ethically non-monogamous relationship, I’m here to help you figure out what’s at the heart of your conflicts and how to heal them.

We’ll work to break entrenched cycles so you can learn how to function and relate to each other better; create deep authentic intimacy through self-integrity, and peel away the stuff that isn’t real. We can do this by developing tangible strategies that realistically work for you and your partner.

It’s time to stop getting bogged down by the bulls*** that’s making you both miserable.

THERAPY FOR ATHLETES

Athletes are different. Your commitment to your sport and the experience of pushing yourself physically and mentally to win does not mean you’re not uniquely vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and challenges in relationships. I know I was.

What coaches often call “mindset” often has more to do with how we feel than how we think. This is why sports- related concerns can often be linked to psychological or relational issues that are keeping you from performing at your peak.

I speak Athlete.

During my lifetime as an athlete (a former NCAA All-American distance runner, 5x marathoner, avid cyclist, mountaineer, and long ago pop-warner football player), I have lived as an athlete on the field, in the training room, and on the podium. This is why I can relate to and appreciate the needs and strengths you bring to the process of healing.

If you’ve been struggling to take your sport to the next level, have issues with your coach or teammates, trouble staying motivated, or concerns about your physical performance, I’m here to help.
