Hi, I’m Adam!

 

I believe everyone deserves to live a healthy and productive life. One of the most effective vehicles for positive change, growth, and healing is therapy. 

 

As a former college athlete and recovering hyper-analytical overachiever, my goal is to meet you exactly where you are so we may move forward with strength and authenticity.

 

I believe in your ability to know yourself, heal yourself, and grow yourself. I invite you to join me in acknowledging the weirdness of life and redefining your way through.

We can go dark. No matter how depressing, discouraging, scary, confusing, or twisted things may seem, I’m not afraid to dig in and go deep. I am also different than other therapists in that I embrace inviting in the humor and lightness into all parts of life, including the journey of healing and understanding ourselves. It's okay to have fun in therapy too! 

I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative feminist and support poly and open relationships, and ethical non-monogamy.

Like most people I work with you might also think, “I don’t really need therapy.”

 

Not surprising. We are conditioned to ignore or swallow our feelings. “Take it like a man” and just “figure it out.” 

 

Unexamined feelings only lead to bigger problems down the road: anxiety, frustration, stress, bouts of sadness, uncertainty about where life is headed, and the inability to develop or maintain healthy relationships. 

 

I get it. I’ve been there. And that’s why I’m here to help.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

 

Whether you’re figuring out how to adjust to a big change in your work, family, or with your partner, experiencing a quarter-life crisis, having issues with your marriage, family, or other relationships, I’ve got you. We’ll work together to uncover the blind spots, overcome the obstacles, and get you better connected to a more authentic version of you in no time. 

THERAPY FOR ATHLETES

Athletes are different. Your commitment to your sport and the experience of pushing yourself physically and mentally to win does not mean you’re not uniquely vulnerable to anxiety, depression, and challenges in relationships.

 

I have lived as an athlete on the field, in the training room, and on the podium. I know the unique challenges athletes face firsthand, from injury, coach struggles, and the challenges that come with retirement from sport. I can relate to and appreciate the needs and strengths you bring to the process of healing and personal growth to use these experiences to become a better, more authentic version of you.

COUPLES THERAPY

 

Even the happiest couples need to work on their relationship. If you’re thinking about moving forward or getting married, are newly married, or are in a long-term partnership and having struggles, I can help you get unstuck. We’ll identify and break the entrenched cycles you’re in and learn how to create more intimacy, closeness, and effective communication.
